Mei-Hua (Prunus mume Sieb. et Zucc.) is one of the most famous flowering trees in China, and has been cultivated for more than 2,000 years. But its distribution of cultivation is almost restricted to regions south of the Yellow River. Attempts of acclimatizing this famous tree in Peking began from Ming dynasty (1368-1644 A.D.), and have been repeated by many horticulturists and amateur gardeners until recent years, but all without successful re-sults.

梅之露地栽培分布自古即以黄河为界。作者自1957年起先后由江南地区引入梅子,采用直播育苗和定向培育的方法,来进行梅花的引种驯化。具体措施包括良好小气候条件的选择和创造、分期播种、萌动种子的低温锻炼、幼苗短日照处理及“斯巴达”培育等。试验结果说明这些综合措施取得了初步成果──1962年4月起有实生梅苗露地开花,1963年6月起有实生苗结果。文中对每项具体措施的效果进行了分析,并提出了植物引种驯化的原则与途径。

刺槐尺蠖是陕西省眉县地区刺槐林的主要害虫。经初步调查,其寄主植物包括林木、农作物和果树等34种,其中刺槐、苹果和梨受害最重。该虫一年发生一代,以结茧蛹在土中过冬。翌年2月下旬开始羽化,3月中旬至4月上旬为盛期,末期于4月中旬。成虫雌雄异型。雄蛾有翅善飞,有趋光性。雌蛾无翅,仅能缓慢爬行。雌蛾一般羽化、交尾和产卵一日内完成。卵多产于一年生枝梢端部阴面,卵粒排列成行,数行或数十行成一卵块,卵块平均有卵462粒。初孵幼虫有吐丝下垂、随风飘荡扩散的习性。幼虫为害期在4月上旬至5月上旬,老熟幼虫于5月中旬开始下树。 根据此虫生物学特性,以地面喷、撒六六六粉消灭成虫效果最好,幼虫幼龄阶段实行树上喷六六六粉也是可行的防治措施。

The present study of the finale of the rain seasons in Hunan and Zhejiang provinces shows that it is later in mountain region than in plain region, later in coast area than in innerland and earlier in southern part than in northern part mostly.The finales of the rain seasons in Hunan and Zhejiang Provinces are similar to the pattern of Mei-Yu north of Yangtze River. But, there are some other cases: (1) When the interactions betweenthe very strong subtropical high and the cold air of Westerlies are very active, or the tropical and oceanic weather systems are also much more active, there will be rainy year and a late finale of the rain season. (2) There will be less rainy years and the early finale of the rain season, when the subtropical high is very weak and conseqently the interactions between the subtropical high and the cold air of Westerlies are inactive.

湖南、浙江的雨季结束期具有山区较平原迟和沿海较内陆迟的特点,大多数年份是南部早于北部。 湖南、浙江的雨季结束期与江淮流域的梅雨类似。一般副高偏强,雨季结束偏早。但有的年份:(1)副高甚强,它与冷空气的相互作用强,或其南的热带与海洋系统较活跃,也有多雨而雨季结束迟的情况。(2)副高甚弱,与西风带冷空气的相互作用弱,也有少雨且雨季早结束的情况。文中给出了雨季结束前1—7个月副高演变活动特征的长期预报指标。
