深水异地沉积是指在深水环境中经重力流或牵引流搬运、改造、沉积而形成的相对粗粒的沉积物,是深水重力流、等深流、内潮汐和内波沉积的总称。在重力流沉积和等深流沉积研究中,我国由向国外学习,到逐步达到国际先进水平;而在对内波、内潮汐沉积的研究中,我国学者在国际上首次鉴别出了古代地层中内潮汐沉积,并对其进行了系统研究,研究成果在国外权威学术刊物上发表后受到国际沉积学界的重视,这标志着我国在这一领域的研究处于世界领先地位。

By developing a three--layer numerical model, the generation and propagation of internal tides when there is a strong thermocline are studied. The results show that internal tides may depend considerably on the stratification structure (including the stratification strength and the thickness of each layer). There exist considerable Euler residuals, which can be up to 8cm/s on the continental shelf. Besides,the motion of second modes at the continental shelf break region should not be neglected.

通过构造一三层模式,研究了在强跃层存在情形下内潮的生成与传播特性。研究表明内潮显著依赖于层化结构(层化强弱、各层厚度)。内潮存在可观的斜压余流,陆架上可达8cm/s。此外,在陆架坡折区,第二模态不可忽略。
