The combination of the parameters for stress field obtained and the extent of fracture development from log analysis is used to set up a model for converting the above stress field into fracture development by training neural network designed. Fracture development per one unit is evaluated using models parameters. Based on the distribution of fracture development,fracture development zones are predicted. This lateral predication technique for fracture development zone is more reasonable and the result is more reliable.

The waveform character on seismic section will be changed when faults and cracks well developed ; measured it with multi-channel coherent rule,found relations between variation in waveform character and similar coefficient,it can predict if there are distributions of faults or fractures in a new survey zone according to changing rule of similar coefficient in a known area. Modeling results show that the method can sensitively reflect the changes between traces caused by factors of faults (or variant lithologic zone ),cracks etc and can be used to predict fault system and fracture development zone of reservoir. Practical application of it in LX and CD regions shows good results.
