This paper presents a hardware technology and its accompanying software developed to measure the in-cylinder integral length scales of the flow inside a transparent four-stroke engine directly, using a fiber laser Doppler velocimeter (LDV).
      


A single cylinder Ricardo E6 variable compression ratio four strokes engine was used as a prototype for a test rig with simulated bio gas. Traditional single point measurement technology such as Laser Doppler Velocimetry(LDV)can only get flow velocities at one point in the flow field,which is the main cause of unclear flow field characteristics of the unsteady in cylinder flow in internal combustion engines.In this paper recently developed Particle Image Velocimetry(PIV)was used for instantaneous measurement of the full field velocity distribution in four stroke engine.The experimental apparatus was designed for simulating the in cylinder flow of a four stroke engine but with large transparent windows on the head and piston for introducing laser light sheet and PIV photographing.The new developed PIV film proccesing system uses the method of directly reading of particle image position to get the two dimensional flow velocities.Multi pulsed laser light made the particle image pair identification easier.Some experimental results were also given.

传统的单点测量技术只能获得流场中某一点的瞬时流速,对于非稳态的内燃机缸内流场,这显然是不够的。本文将粒子图像测速技术用于研究内燃机缸内流场,可以测定某一瞬时的缸内流场全场流速分布。开发成功的实验装置可模拟四冲程发动机的缸内流动,并适合于用粒子图像测速技术来测定缸内及燃烧室内的流场。实验系统采用短间隔多脉冲激光,使照相底片曝光来拍摄流场照片,然后用PIV照片分析处理系统对其显微放大,直接读取示踪粒子的位移,使粒子像对的判别更准确容易。实验结果表明,这种实验系统是可行而实用的。

Experiments were made to investigate influences of Ceramic-Metal FGM (Functionally Gradient Material) on performances of small gasoline engine.FGM was formed on some of the main components of motorcycle engines by PCVD (Plasma Chemical Vapor Deposition) of BN and Si 3N 4.To investigate its influences,comparison tests on engine performances and durability were carried out on engine test bench.The results of comparison tests under full throttle opening showed that the power output,fuel consumption and durability were improved considerably on a four-stroke engine.Further analysis showed that the improvement comes from the reduction of friction loss and leakage loss.

通过试验研究 ,探讨了陶瓷 -金属梯度功能材料对小型汽油机性能的影响。采用等离子化学气相沉积技术在摩托车发动机主要零件上渗镀氮化硼和氮化硅 ,从而形成了陶瓷 -金属梯度功能材料。在试验台架上对镀膜处理前后的发动机进行了性能对比试验及耐久性能试验。外特性对比试验结果表明 ,四冲程发动机的动力性、燃油消耗率和耐久性能均得到了明显改善。分析结果表明 ,采用陶瓷 -金属梯度功能材料可显著改善发动机的耐磨性、润滑性和密封性 ,从而明显降低发动机的摩擦损失、漏气损失和漏气量。
