This new refining process is termed "ladle-refining" or "secondary steelmaking". In this paper m(?)thods of external d(?)sulpurization of hot m(?)tal are d(?)s(?)ribed, 1. stirring on stream; 2. m(?)hanical stirring, 3. pneumatic stirring; 4. electromagnetic stirring.Pneumatic stirring methods are used most widely.; In principle desulphurization must be done with low oxygen activity in metal and in basic ladles. Mixtures of lime and fluorspar or of metallic magnesium and magnesinm-coke are used for desulphurization. Research work on desulphurization carried out in some West German iron and steel companies are briefly des(?)ribed.

为了在高炉中脱硫而采取提高碱度的措施,将严重影响高炉的生产率;同时在转炉或平炉熔炼过程也不能有效的脱硫。因而发展了铁水与钢水的炉外脱硫工艺。本文介绍了现已发展的一系列生铁的炉外脱硫方法:1.浇注射流搅拌法;2.机械搅拌法;3.气动搅拌法;4.电磁搅拌法。钢水的炉外脱硫则以气动法最广泛,原则上要求保证脱硫前钢水中氧的活度要低并在碱性钢包中进行。脱硫剂可为石灰粉+萤石的混合物或金属镁与镁焦等,并介绍了西德一些钢铁公司在脱硫方面的研究工作。
