The further development of injury is the appearance of necrotic areas which assume a dirty green color at the initial stage, and then dry out to bleached or pigmented final color in a matter of a few days. The pattern and cotouring of the necrotic areas are characteristic of different species of vegetation, which may help identify plant injury from SO_2.Differences in SO_2 resistance of various plants have been shown. However, susceptibility of plant to injury from SO_2 is dependent on the developmental stage. Variations of resistance among cultivars of the same species have also been demonstrated. On the basis of the estimated threshold value and the extent of leaf injury, four resistance series have been established. The information will be helpful in field diagnosis of plant injury as well as in the selection of species and cultivars for cultivation in polluted areas.

以斜生栅藻[Scenedesmus obliquus (Turp.)Kutz.]为材料,进行了藻类对三种放射性物质(K2HPO4-P32,NaI-I131,SrCl-Sr89)的吸收与去除试验。试验结果表明,斜生栅藻对这些放射性物质的吸收能力强,速度快,具有较好的去除效果。用超声波、红外线和γ射线对藻类进行预处理,可以在不同的程度上提高吸收能力和去除效果。
