In this paper, a diode laser end-pumped continues-wave polycrystalline 1% Nd:YAG ceramic laser at 1.32μm is demonstrated. The lasing threshold is 2.1 W. With an incident pump power of 9 W, an average output power of 690 mW is achieved. The slope efficiency is 11%. To our knowledge, it is a 1.32μm Nd:YAG ceramic laser with a maximum output power which has been reported at present.

本文报道了激光二极管端面泵浦的多晶Nd:YAG(polycrystalline Nd:YAG ceramic)1.32μm连续激光器的实验研究。在泵浦功率为2.1W时,激光达到阈值开始输出;在泵浦功率为9W时,输出功率达到690mW,斜率效率为11%。据我们所知,这是目前报道的功率最大的多晶Nd:YAG 1.32μm连续激光器。

The optical characteristic of Nd:Y_3Al_5O_(12)(Nd:YAG) ceramic,a new type solid-state laser material,was introduced,and LD pumped miniature laser with Nd:YAG ceramic was developed.The laser thresh-old is only (48 mW) with (R=97%) output coupler.With (1.5 W) pumping power,(516 mW CW) laser output at 1 064 nm has been obtained corresponding to an optical-to-optical efficiency of 34.4%.

The heat generation in Nd:YAG ceramic lasers under the conditions of laser extraction was investigated through the heat generation coefficient, which was defined as the ratio of heat generation power to laser output power. The heat generation coefficient of the 1.0% neodymium-doped YAG ceramic laser was calculated to be 0.63. The main factors which influences the heat generation coefficient were discussed in this paper, and the results showed that the heat generation coefficient...

The heat generation in Nd:YAG ceramic lasers under the conditions of laser extraction was investigated through the heat generation coefficient, which was defined as the ratio of heat generation power to laser output power. The heat generation coefficient of the 1.0% neodymium-doped YAG ceramic laser was calculated to be 0.63. The main factors which influences the heat generation coefficient were discussed in this paper, and the results showed that the heat generation coefficient was very sensitive to the changes in quantum emission efficiency, overlap efficiency and laser extraction efficiency. This work provides a reference for further research of thermal effect of Nd:YAG ceramic lasers.

通过热沉积系数研究在激光提取条件下掺杂原子分数为1.0%的NdYAG陶瓷激光器中热沉积问题.热沉积系数定义为热沉积功率与激光器输出功率之比.在理论分析基础上,通过测量激光器斜率效率来间接测定热沉积系数,实验测定的热沉积系数值为0.63.建立激光提取条件下NdYAG陶瓷发热模型,讨论了影响热沉积系数的主要因素.结果表明热沉积系数对NdYAG陶瓷的辐射量子效率、交叠效率以及激光提取效率的变化非常敏感.为有效减少介质内热沉积,在激光器优化设计中交叠效率和激光提取效率是需要着重考虑的参数.所得结果可为进一步研究陶瓷激光器中热效应提供参考.
