In order to increase the source of coal injected into the B. F. the experimental furnace of Capitai Iron & Steel Co. installed an independent coal preparation and high pressure coal injection system and has conducted an experiment from June 15, 1978. This article describes the procedure of the experiment; discusses the safety problem and precautionary measures taken. A brief statement has also been given about the effect of coal injection on the blast furnace operation and fuel economy.

This report first intruduced the problems U. S. automotive industriesfaced in the 80's, i. e. , fuel economy, exhaust pollution and safety. To satisfy thegovernment regulations of the above three items, industries were forced to reducecar weight, so the material used in automotive industries would have to be reevaluated.The use of HSLA steel, aluminum and its alloys and plastics will be increasedin the 80's. The author gave concrete figures of this increment and typical partsmanufactured by the above materials....

By means of regression analysis, the testing data on two engines have been processed. Under the operating conditions of engine temperature, considerable influence of temperature of cooling water and oil on fuel economy of diesel engines with small load has been observed. The auther demonstrates that regression analysis is an useful tool for processing testing data.

本文应用回归分析的方法对两台柴油机的试验数据作了整理。证实了在柴油机自然升温的情况下,冷却水温度和机油温度对柴油机小负荷经济性有着重要影响。并指出,回归分析是处理试验数据的一种有用工具。
