After a brief review about the problems of sediment deposition in irrigation canals and the general devices to reduce the quantity of suspended sediment entering the irrigation headworks, a layout based upon theory of circulating flow is proposed. After a brief review about the problems of sediment deposition in irrigation canals and the general devices to reduce the quantity of suspended sediment entering the irrigation headworks, a layout based upon theory of circulating flow is proposed. By means of analysis of some existing data in engineering practice and theoritical treatment, circulating flow is proved to be efficient for reducing suspended sediment entering irrigation headworks, especially for those d>0.04mm, which usually composes the greater part of deposit in irrigation canals. For developing circulating flow, a channel-bend and a side-sluice are laid before the head-regulator.

It consists of the following procedures: (1) providing a list of monthly natural inflows and irrigation demands of the reservoir for each recording year from the stream flow and climatic records; (2) computing the reservoir storage needed at the beginning of each month to fulfill the water demands of the following months in that year, by counting backward month by month from the beginning...

In this paper, a new method of developing the annual operating plan for a single irrigation reservoir is represented. It consists of the following procedures: (1) providing a list of monthly natural inflows and irrigation demands of the reservoir for each recording year from the stream flow and climatic records; (2) computing the reservoir storage needed at the beginning of each month to fulfill the water demands of the following months in that year, by counting backward month by month from the beginning of the flood season when the reservoir stage should be drawn to the lowest position; (3) making frequency analysis for each array of the monthly storage requirements computed above and finding out the proper value of storage needed for each month with a given percent of chance; (4) plotting the guide curves for annual operation with the above results. A simplified method is also recommended for the areas where the watershed is small enough that a close correlation may exist between the natural inflows and irrigation demands.

Since the variation of low water level in the river-netted region is often rather limited, adopting a maximum head for the pumping plant according to the lowest water level would only slightly increase the capacity and this would be well compensated in dry years. The planning of the pumping plants should fit the natural conditions such as topographical and hydrological conditions. In the river-netted region, the most favorable arrangement has been shown to be employing scattered small plants each carrying a small lot. It is usually advantageous to design plants serving for both drainage and irrigation. Sometimes, portable pumps working together with permanent plants may proved to be convenient. The necessity and possibility of the collaboration of pumping plants with other types of waterworks should always be well considered. In addition to overcoming the disaster caused by drought and flood, the electric pumping plants serve as an active device for more efficient irrigation and drainage, thus afford the possibility of lengthening the cultivating season, and adopting the most appropriate cultivating system and most suitable species of crops. The electric pumping irrigation and drainage on the Pearl River Delta presents a promising aspect for increasing the agricultural production.

本文首先分析了珠江三角洲河口网河区原有排灌条件,确定兴建电力排灌工程的必要性,并论述了电力灌溉可按照完全满足用水要求的高标准设计,而电力排涝则宜于采用较低标准。关于排灌站的布置,建议以划分小区分散建站为主要形式,并应注意排水与灌溉相结合,流动抽水机与固定站相结合,电力排灌与其他水利工程结合的必要性与可能性等。
