Abstract We have discussed the characteristics of nanostructures on the surface of highly oriented pyrolytic graphite using electron beams and heating method respectively.The results suggest that the fabrication involving field emitted electrons could be associated with the diffusion of electrons at the vicinity of the injection position.It is also demontrated that oxidation at elevated temperatures could generate surface features at nanometer scale.

Carbon nanotubes and their synthesis methods are described briefly in this paper. Synthesis of one-dimensional nanostructures of other materials based on filling, coating and confined reacting of carbon nanotubes is also presented. These unique one-dimensional materials have potential uses in nanoelectronics, nanophotonics, super high density recording, and scanning probe microscopy.

简要介绍碳纳米管及其制备技术,以及利用碳纳米管的填充、包敷和空间限制反应等方法合成其它材料的一维纳米结构。这些具有独特性质的一维纳米材料在纳米电子学、纳米光电子学、超高密度存储和扫描探针显微镜等领域有着潜在的应用前景。
