The data used in the analysis was derived from questionnaires to 24 farmers living in Liuhe and Jiangning of Nanjing city during fieldwork conducted from March to April 1987. The results of this analysis were inconclusive as the production function coefficients were either extremely small or negative. A plausible explanation would be that the sample size was too small to generate a model at any acceptable level of confidence. The levels of output among the 24 farmers surveyed were highly related to location. This variation by location suggests environmental factors are highly significant in determining system productivity.

大(小)麦—西瓜—水稻(简称麦—瓜—稻)复种方式,为南京地区六合、江宁二县农户在近年来取得较显著经济效益的一种种植方式。对24户农民使用这一种植方式调查时所得的产量、收益、投入的类型和水平以及所有有关的农业经济与技术参数,应用Cobb-Douglas生产函数模型进行分析。初步结果表明,麦—瓜—稻的生产力有一定的地区差异。土壤肥力条件及不同管理水平对同一种植制度有较显著的影响,说明了种植制度与地区的生产条件相适应的必要性。

The results of the experiment show that on the soluble solid percentage of watermelon fruits, the common combining ability and special combining ability of watermelon self-bred line B_2 and B_4 are much higher than those of others in the experiment; B_2 and B_4 are considered as much more respectable breeding parent materials in the increasing watermelon sweetness breeding.
