From the results of the present experiment, it was found that ripening of tomato fruits can be hastened significantly with ethreleither by preharvest spray onto the plants or by dipping the fruits after harvest. Concentrations of the ethrel used for dipping ranged from 1,000 to 4,000 ppm. Temperature higher than 25℃ during the ripening period was required in accelera- ting the fruit colour development, but no consistent differences was found between that of 20℃ and that of 30℃ of the dipping solutions used....

Concentrations of the ethrel used for dipping ranged from 1,000 to 4,000 ppm. Temperature higher than 25℃ during the ripening period was required in accelera- ting the fruit colour development, but no consistent differences was found between that of 20℃ and that of 30℃ of the dipping solutions used. Preharvest spraying with ethrel (500-2000 ppm) in the field also accelerated the fruit ripening by 6-8 days. The early yield of red mature fruits of the treated lots was thus increased considerably over that of the untreated lots. But it was not the case in the total yield. Such a pattern of yield increase was mainly due to the in- crease of fruit number per unit area, and not the average weight of fruits. No appreciable change was found in total soluble solids contents in the course of ripening, whereas the titratable acidity decreased rapidly. Maturation of watermelon could also be hastensd by spraying with ethrel in the field from 100 to 500 ppm, and harvest was advanced by 5-7 days. Soluble solids contents were found to be higher in all regions of the treated fruits in comparision with the untreated ones at the same calender age of fruit development.

嫁接栽培是防治土壤传播西瓜病害、缩短轮作周期的有效途径,本文利用中国南瓜、印度南瓜和葫芦的三个品种作砧木,比较其亲和力和产量的影响,结果认为葫芦砧的亲和力最强,印度南瓜次之,中国南瓜最差,试验地虽未发病,但由于嫁接苗根系范围广、吸肥力强等多方面的作用,有不同程度的增产效果,试验还表明嫁接对无子西瓜和四倍体西瓜的增产效果更为显著。 嫁接方法是顶插接,每人每天可接600—800株,如保温、保温、遮荫、除萌等措施得当,成活率可达90%以上。

An orthogonal experiment and field investigation were conducted to determine the effects of variety, seedling age, methods of top dressing andplant pensity on the yield of watermelon. The following order of effect was found: variety > seedling age and methods of top fertilization > plant density and pattern of vine cutting.

本文根据多因素正交试验的结果和调查资料,讨论了品种、秧苗的大小、施肥方法和种植密度等对西瓜产量的影响。结果表明,品种对西瓜产量的影响最大,其次是秧苗的大小和追肥的方法,而种植密度和整枝方式影响较小。
