A new method,using the differential channel and developed for correcting the errors caused by the matrix effect in radioisotope x-ray fluorescent analysis,is described.This method,rather simple and efficient,proved suitable especially for the simple on-stream analysis. Its principle is based on that the characteristic x-ray spectrum distribution of any element does not vary with its content.When the measurement conditions keep definite,there exists an inherent linear relationship between the pulse counts measured...

A new method,using the differential channel and developed for correcting the errors caused by the matrix effect in radioisotope x-ray fluorescent analysis,is described.This method,rather simple and efficient,proved suitable especially for the simple on-stream analysis. Its principle is based on that the characteristic x-ray spectrum distribution of any element does not vary with its content.When the measurement conditions keep definite,there exists an inherent linear relationship between the pulse counts measured in different channels within the spectrum and the element content,i.e. the element content being changed,the ratio of the varying pulse counts from dif- ferent channels will be constant.In this case,for the overlapped spectrum peak of neighboring elements,the ratio,k,of the pulse counts produced by an interfer- ence element in the measured element channel to those produced by the same ele- ment in a narrow bond channel(called differential channel)far from the element spectrum measured can be determined in advance with a known sample,and used as a correction coefficient.Therefore,both the correction coefficient k and the pulse counts in the differential channel can be used to calculate the pulse counts of in- terference elements in the channel measured,and the measurements can be corrected. In addition to describing the principle,the method for calculating the correc- tion coefficient is experimentally demonstrated and illustrated by figures and tables, and the results of correction for both artificial and natural samples are also given. 94 samples containing copper and iron were measured for copper content,and the errors before and after correction were compared with the chemical analysis. The results are as follows.The number of samples measured with absolute accu- racy less than 0.2%(element content)increased from 45.8% to 71.3% of total,while that measured with accuracy higher than 0.55% decreased from 17% to 8.5% conse- quently.It has been shown that this method can basically satisfy the requirements for process control. Finally,some attempts to use this method in the circuit of on-stream analyser are also introdued.

微分道校正法是对放射性同位素 x 荧光分析中基体效应误差的一种新校正法。它简单而有效,特别适用于简单的流程分析。该校正法的原理是:任何元素的特征 x 线能谱分布规律不随其含量而变,当测量条件一定时,该能谱的各测量道内的计数与其含量各呈固有的线性关系。即当含量变化时,不同道内的计数变化比值是一定的。根据这个原理,对于相邻元素的重叠谱峰,可以事先用已知样品求得干扰元素在待测元素测量道内的计数和在远离待测元素谱的另一窄道(我们称之为微分道)内的计数变化比 K,作为校正系数。根据此校正系数和微分道的计数,算得测定某元素时干扰元素在测量道内的干扰计数,使测量值得到校正。文中除对原理的阐述外,还通过实验,以图表等形式,示范了校正系数的求法及对人工配制样品和实际矿样的校正效果。以化学分析值为准,测铜与铁混合样中的铜。对94个样品的实测结果,校正前后分析误差的对比是:品位绝对误差≤0.2%的矿样,由原占总数的45.8%上升为71.3%,误差>0.5%的矿样,由原来占17%下降为8.5%,基本可满足生产过程控制的要求。文中还介绍了此法在流程分析仪电路方案上的应用。

A spectrophotometric study of the color reaction between niobium and 4-(2'- thiazolylazo) resorcinol (TAR) has been made. A break in the plot of the absorbance values at the isobestic point (495nm)as a function of mole fraction (Fig. 2) clearly indicates a 1 : 1 niobium-TAR complex. Similar results have been obtained by other methods. The electrophoresis and extraction experiments indicated the anionio nature of the complex. The method has been tested by analysing ferrotitanium and some natural samples.
