The main damages caused by debris flows are as follows:destroy bridges,turn over the trains,block up culverts, silt up stations, railway, tunnels, destroy raod-bed and facilities etc.The disaster causes for debris flows are; 1. Natural conditions are adverse,debris flows develop strongly. 2. The understanding to debris flow is not enough,thus missing or mistaking in discrimination of debris flow. 3. Owing to wrong choice of bridge structure, the bridge piers are endamaged. 4. The bores of bridges and culverts are too small so that drainage is difficult. 5. The drainage works are not proper. 6. The secondary disasters of debris flow would not be paid an attention. 7. The human unreasonable economic activities aggravated the disasters.

In the same time, the paper also presented the disasters of debris flow in Xinjiang in the40 years and analysed the causes, scales and the damages. Researches were also made onreappearance properties of debris flow in Kunlun Mountains and Tianshan Mountains. According to the research, the study on debris flow should be taken seriously into con-sideration because of its disasters to national economy and people livehood will be no lessthan that of earthquakes. 本文在概述泥石流学基本问题的基础上,讨论了新疆境内泥石流的发生与制约因素,由于新疆泥石流受水源的制约,主要形成了冰川泥石流和暴雨泥石流两大类。其分布由北而南,依次是阿尔泰山及其山麓和塔城盆地;天山及其南北麓;阿尔金山与昆仑山及其北麓三大区域。并针对新疆泥石流灾害提出了防治的原则和方法。

The factors caused debris flow in Northern Mountain of Beijing in 1991 were the precipitation, geomorphology,geologic structure,solid accumulation and the human activity. Particularity, the precipitation of the early day and the day when debris flow occurred was the major inducing factor. Developing forestry and planting fruit trees are main ways to develp the local economy and to prevent disasters of debris flow.

北京北部山区的泥石流是降水、地貌、地质构造与固体堆积物及人类活动等因素长期共同作用的结果。其中,泥石流暴发前数月的累积降水量和当日降水量为主要的诱发因素。大力发展林业、果树业是灾后防灾和发展经济的重要途径。
