This article presents two modified lead titanate piezoelectric ceramics. One is developed by adding Nd2O3, In2O3 and MnO2 to lead titanate and the other is modified by the alkali earth elements. Ca, Sr and Ba partially substituted for lead titanate and then the Pb(Co1/ 2W1/2)O3 added as solid solution. These materials both possess zero temperature coefficient of resonance frequency. The former is available for varions surface acoustic wave devices and bulk wave vibration mode devices. However the latter is mainly useful for the electric scanning ultrasonic array probe. Both materials may be easily sitering and poling, and possess excellent piezoelectric, dielectric and elastic properties.
