Up to now, to the author's best knowledge, there docs not exist a simple and convenient way forcomputing probability of bit error in underwater digital communication. The aim of this paper is toprovide such a way.In sonar, it is usual to estimate probability of bit error with detection threshold and ReceiverOperating Characteristic (ROC) curves. But, this is troublesome. The author's way replaces thresholdand ROC curves with the concept of Signal-Noise-Ratio Excess (SNRE) which is related to SNR,and the author's analysis gives the relationship between SNR and detection index.Mathematicallyexpressed, they are eqs.(8-10). Thus, estimate of probability of bit error is simplified.The author also considers some factors that influence the estimate of bit error: fading channel,diversity reception and error correcting decoding, etc. The author gives eqs.(11-15) for accountingfor the influence of these factors.Finally a numerical example appears to show that the author,s way is indeed simple and convenient.

给出了水声数字通信的最重要的指标-误码率的估计方法,将数字通信的一般原理与水声信道的特殊条件相结合,给出了水声学中的检测指数和通信问题中的信噪比之间的关系,提出了信噪比余量的概念,给水声数字通信的误码率估计带来很大方便,同时也给出了降低误码率的各种措施及其计算方法.

The characteristics of a hysrology automatic telemetering system are low data rate and low S/N.Therefore,the data frame is transmitted repeatedly three times for error correcting decoding.The decoding gain is 3.38 dB in theory.“Slipping window” presented on errorcorrecting decoding is discussed and realized by one chip microcomputer software.By applying the method of “Slipping window”,S/N could be enhanced 1.2dB.

水文自动测报系统的特点是通信速率低,应用环境的信噪比不高。因此采用了数据帧重发3遍的纠错编码方案,此方案编码增益的理论值可达3.38dB.实现译码的方法有多种,文中提出了一种实用的纠错译码方法——“窗口滑动”法,并编制了完成纠错译码功能的单片机软件。实测结果表明采用单片机软件纠错译码后,信噪比可提高1.2dB
