According to the conditions of the design and construction plan of the Longtan high RCC gravity dam in China,the authors in this paper carried out the 3D finite element emulative analysis of the temperature field and thermal stress field of the dam during a long time cease of concrete placement and a worst cold wave strike. In line of the results a 60day long downtime couldn't directly causes the cracks in the dam,even if the cease location has been selected at the worst elevation of 262 m. But if any thermal control measure will not be adopted before the cold wave comes,the dam must definitely be cracked by the strike of the cold wave,especially on both of the upstream and downstream surfaces of the dam. The most concerned head split cracks might take place inevitably. After the numerical calculation of the dam stresses under the conditions of using different thermal saving covers for the dam,the authors want here to suggest that the parts of the dam surfaces should be covered by thermal saving plastic plates with a thickness of 2.5 cm at an appropriate time before the low temperature season comes. Finally,taking into account the results calculated,one needs comprehensive temperature control and cracking prevention measures for the dam,in order to grantee that the dam will not be cracked.

Furthermore, the chamber concrete was generally in strong restraint or restraint areas with high temperature control and crackproof requirements. Oversize and overweigh miter gates for head chamber resulted in difficulties in lifting and installation with high precision requirements. The layout of gantries and tower cranes was optimized. Single-side slip formwork and turn-over slip formwork, and comprehensive temperature control and crackproof techniques were applied successfully to concrete construction of lined walls. In erection of miter gates, optimized survey control and installation positions, and sound lifting and weld procedures ensured quality and progress of installation.

三峡船闸混凝土结构复杂,技术要求高,施工难度大,混凝土垂直运输布置困难,特别是闸室薄壁衬砌墙浇筑方案复杂,同时闸室混凝土基本为强约束区和约束区,温控防裂要求高;闸首超大人字门安装吨位大,技术难度大、精度要求高。武警水电部队在施工中精心设计、精心施工,混凝土浇筑通过优化门塔机布置,采用了闸室衬砌墙单侧滑模和滑框倒模技术,以及综合温控防裂技术,并取得成功,人字门安装采取测量控制优化、安装位置优化,以及制定合理的吊装和焊接技术方案,确保了安装质量和进度。
