The following assessments were recorded,motile rods and Gram negative rods increased with increase in severity of the periodontal disease,and cocci increased with the resolution of the imflammation.Curettage would cause a decrease of Gram negative rods and an increase of cocci, Chinese herb medicine caused a diminution of spirochetes and motile rods.Numbers of bacteria increased as the PH value of gingival fluid decreased.

There was significant difference between the two groups (H=42.25,P<0. 005). The treated group was further divided into scaling group (29 teeth )and no scaling group (50 teeth ) and no difference was found between the two groups. The metronidazole strip released drugs gradually and remained effective in the periodontal pocket for a considerable period of time to be functional in anti-inflammatory, analgesic, hemostatic and anti-plaque effects. No toxic and side effects of the drug strip was encountered.

报告用甲硝唑药棒治疗牙周病的临床疗效。将门诊病人随机分为治疗组(79个牙)和对照组(21个牙)。结果:经治疗1~8天后,治疗组总有效率为100%,对照组14.3%。经秩和检验,两组之间差异有非常显著意义(H=42.25,P<0.005)。治疗组又分为洁治组(29个牙)和非洁治组,(50个牙),统计学无差异。甲硝唑在牙周袋中缓慢释出药物,作用持久,达到消炎、止痛、止血、抗菌斑作用,未见有副作用。
