Applying the new system to bubble swarms,the values of a,k_L and ε are measured at different superfacial gas velocities.Satisfactory results are obtained after the data correlation.Liquid side mass transfer coefficients at different liquid heights are measured.It is found that the values of k_L near the gas sparger is as 3 to 5 times as that for free rising bubbles,which shows that a fairly amount of mass transfer occures near the gas sparger.
