An internal polarized gas target in conjunction with a beam of polarized protons stored in the IUCF Cooler storage ring has been used to measure analyzing power and spin correlation parameters between 200 MeV and 450 MeV over a wide range of angles.
      


The magnetic flux density of the HERMES transverse polarized gas target changing with time and an automatic compensating system for stabilizing the strong magnetic field are described in this paper. The instability of magnetic field was found to be related to temperature change of the ferromagnetics. With the automatic system, the field in the monitoring point around 338.6 mT can be stabilized with the accuracy of ±0.004 mT(Stat) or ±0.045 mT (Syst) instead of ±0.45 mT without the system.

本文叙述了HERMES横向极化气体靶的外磁场的磁感应强度随时间减弱现象的发现,探讨了这种减弱的原因。由此开发了一种全自动补偿系统。利用该系统后,磁场的稳定度得到很大提高,如在某测量位置,预置磁感应强度为338.6mT的磁场的稳定度由原来的±0.45mT变化幅度改善到±0.004mT(Stat)±0.048(Syst)mT。
