Mullite matrix composites reinforced by SiC particles,Y-TZP,and both respec-tively were fabricated by hot pressing.The mechanical properties of these composi-tes were investigated.The flexural strength and fracture toughness as well as ther-mal shock resistance of SiC(p)/Y-TZP/M composites were significantly improved,compared with that of SiC(p)/M or Y-TZP/M.This SiC(p)/Y-TZP/M compositegave the strength 500 MPa and fracture toughness 6.1 MPa.m~(1/2),and the strengthwas almost constant from room temperature to 1000℃.The observations of micro-structures by SEM and TEM revealed that the reinforcing mechanisms for SiC(p)/M composites were mainly crack deflection and crack branching by SiC particles,and for Y-TZP/M composites microcrack toughening was important.

用碳化硅颗粒 SiC(p)、Y-TZP 作为补强剂,单一强化增韧莫来石陶瓷,其复合材料的力学性能获得一定程度的改善。在此基础上用 SiC(p)和 Y-TZP 共同强化增韧莫来石陶瓷,制备的 SiC(p)/Y-TZP/莫来石(M)复合材料室温强度达500MPa,韧性达6.1MPa·m~(1/2),室温至1000℃范围内,强度随温度升高下降很小。同时材料的抗热震性能得到显著改善。用 SEM 和 TEM 分析材料断口等显微结构,确定 SiC(p)/M复合材料中裂纹偏转和分支对强化增韧起主要作用;Y-TZP/M 复合材料中微裂纹增韧起重要作用。

The aluminum titanatemullite matrix composites reinforced by surface modified carbon fibers were processed. The carbon fiber was coated with Ni,Cu and Cu+Ni by electroless plating process. The aluminum titanatemullite matrix composites reinforced by surface modified carbon fibers were processed. The carbon fiber was coated with Ni,Cu and Cu+Ni by electroless plating process. The effects of content of verious carbon fibers on bending strength,fracture toughness,dimensional shrinkage and porosity of the composite were studied. The results indicate that the surface modified carbon fibers particularly plated by the Cu+Ni can improve the properties of the composites remarkably. The bending strength and fracture toughness of the composites are 28 and 274 times as high as those of the matrix ceramic respectively and the dimensional shrinkage and porosity of the composites keep nearly the same as the matrix ceramic.

通过化学镀方法,在碳纤维表面分别镀上Ni、Cu和Cu+Ni镀层,以这种表面改性碳纤维与钛酸铝 莫来石陶瓷复合,制备表面改性碳纤维增强钛酸铝 莫来石基复合材料,研究不同质量分数的碳纤维对复合材料抗弯强度、断裂韧性、尺寸变化率和孔隙率等的影响规律·结果表明,碳纤维可以显著地提高材料的性能,表面改性碳纤维可以进一步提高材料性能,尤其是铜镍复合镀碳纤维的效果更好,其抗弯强度可达基体抗弯强度的2 8倍,断裂韧性可达基体断裂韧性的2 74倍,增强后的复合材料的尺寸变化率和孔隙率变化不大·
