Social cultural researchers in China have always been focusing their research on the social history and culture in Minority areas in terms of the social and historical background in China and the influence of the inheritance of foreign anthropological theories. Since post World War Ⅱ, especially since 1960s, the Euro American social cnltural anthropologists have turned the focus on the research on their own societies and cutures instead of the non westerners as what they had done before while introspecting their traditional way of “Euro Americancentrism”. With the great social ecomic and cultural changes taking place in China, social cultural researchers in China should break through the shackles of traditional research, and regard Han peoples societies and cultures as an inalienable part of our research.

我国社会文化人类学(民族学)研究一直是以少数民族社会历史文化为主要研究对象,这一研究传统是有其国外的学术传承渊源与国内社会历史背景的。二战后,尤其60年代以来欧美社会文化人类学者在反省“欧美中心主义”传统的同时一改过去只对非西方社会文化进行研究的传统,大量开展了对自己社会文化的研究。面对我国正发生的巨大的社会经济文化变迁,我国社会文化人类学者应打破过去只研究少数民族社会文化的传统束缚而将汉族社会文化纳入自己主要的研究界域中来。
