The cyclic voltammetry analysis showed that the electrochemical oxidation of SRB occurred around 0.40V versus saturated calomel electrode (SCE), and the peak current was around 10~(-4)A. With increasing the scan rate and culture time, the peak current changed. The shift range of peak current was within 50mV. When a potential of 0.40V (SCE) was applied to the graphite electrode, the bacteria were almost sterilized after 10 minutes. This sterilization effect was due to the electrochemical oxidation of intracellular coenzyme A in the cell of SRB.

Owing to the very negative reduction potential of Mg~(2+) in aqueous solution,it is difficult for Mg to deposit from aqueous solution,and the deposition potential of Mg and Ni fifers more than 2 V,thus it is difficult for Mg and Ni to codeposit together.
