(2) Based on the Weierstrass theory and PSP (Per-Survivor Processing), a model fitting based methods, which can separate the overlapped signal components of the multicomponent signal, is proposed.

This dissertation focuses on the separation of overlapped signal components of the multicomponent signal which has various and important applications in the fields of communications, radar, sonar, speech, biomedical engineering and so on.

(3) A new method to separate the overlapped signal components of the multicomponent signal is proposed, which uses the short time and sinusoidal assumptions of the signal component, and extends the application of energy operator to the multi-signal components.

Simulation results show that the method can achieve less than 7.5% separation mean absolute error for three overlapped signal components when SNR is above 25dB.

If the suitable optimal wavelet basis and frequency scale value are selected, the useful information can be extracted from noised overlapped signal.

The resolution power of the filter for overlapping lines can be strengthened by reduction of the step size in scans. The minimum peak separation of two lines which the Kalman filter can effectively handle generally equals two to three times the step size in scans. Significant difference between the profiles of the analysis and interfering lines and multiple lines from matrix in the spectral window of the analysis line are very helpful for the Kalman tilter to discern closely spaced analysis and interfering signals correctly, which allow the filter well to resolve the line pair with very small peak distance or even the entirely coinoident lines.
