In addition, technology of character recognition can also help the system to give a good annotation according to different news items. This new strategy achieves good results by experiments and it supplies an efficient way for news video retrieval.

在提出一种新闻视频检索系统结构的基础上 ,介绍了基于标题条检测的新闻场景分段索引方法 ,并阐述了两种新闻摘要的生成策略 .该方法利用新闻节目标题条出现的时空位置线索 ,结合标题关键词的识别 ,建立起一个层次化的新闻视频索引结构 ,并帮助用户通过新闻摘要实现不同要求的视频浏览 .实验证明该方法有较高的检索成功率 ,并且简单快捷 ,为新闻视频检索提供了新的有效途径 .

As a crucial step in content-based news video indexing and retrieval system,shot boundary detection attracts much more research interests in recent years.To partition news video into shots,many metrics were constructed to measure the similarity among video frames based on all the available video features.However,too many features will reduce the efficiency of the shot boundary detection.Therefore,it is necessary to perform feature reduction for the decision rules of shot boundary.For this purpose,the classification method based on rough-fuzzy sets for feature reduction and the dissimilarity function is proposed.Finally,for each given class,the fuzzy if-then rule is generated for decision with fuzzy inference.The efficacy of the proposed method is extensively tested on more than 3 hour of CCTV news programs and 95.4% recall with 96.1% precision have been achieved.

镜头边界检测是实现基于内容的视频检索的一个重要步骤.为了将视频分割成镜头,现有的方法大都是首先提取大量的特征然后构造相异性测度函数.然而,太多的特征就会降低算法的效率.因此,有必要对镜头边界检测的规则进行特征约简.本文将粗糙集中的属性重要性和模糊粗糙集中的分类精度相结合定义了模糊粗糙算子,并构造了相异度检测函数.最后给出了镜头边界检测的一般性规则.由于本文检测方案的自适应性,因此适合于各种类型的新闻视频.用来自中央电视台的3个多小时的新闻视频所做的镜头边界检测实验获得了95.4%的查全率和96.1%的准确率.

As a crucial step in the content-based news video indexing and retrieval system,shot boundary detection attracts much more research interests in recent years.To partition news video into shots,many metrics were constructed to measure the similarity among video frames based on all the available video features.However,too many features will reduce the efficiency of the shot boundary detection.Therefore,it is necessary to perform feature reduction for every decision of the shot boundary.For this purpose,the classification method based on rough sets and fuzzy c-means clustering for feature reduction and rule generation is proposed.According to the particularity of news scenes,shot transition can be divided into three types: cut transition,gradual transition and no transition.The efficacy of the proposed method is extensively tested with news programs over 2 hours and 96.5% recall with 97.9% precision have been achieved.

为了将视频分割成镜头,目前的方法都是提取某些特征然后构造不同的相异性函数。然而,太多的特征就会降低镜头分割算法的效率。因此,有必要对每一个镜头检测决策进行特征约简。基于此,提出了基于粗糙集和模糊聚类的分类方法并得到了相应的决策规则。针对新闻场景的特殊性,将镜头分割成突变过渡、渐变过渡以及无场景变化3类。用超过2个小时的新闻视频所做的实验获得了96.5%的查全率和97.9%的准确率。
