The group. of ruins of the main building of Rou-Han Yuen and the twin pagoda in Soochow is one of the most important manument in the history of Chinese architecture of Sung dynasty. In the Autumn of 1954 The author was appointed by the bureau of culture of Kiangsu province and The Board of culture conservation and administration to prepare a scheme of renovation of the twin pagoda and at the same time to make a survey of the ruins of the main biuldiug of Ron-Han Yuen. This article is a report of authors findings there about. As to the details of the twin pagoda, Professor T.T. Liu of Nanking University had made a previous investigation report in 1936. No further elucidation is therefore given in this article.

On the surface of aeciospores of Cronartium flaccidum (from Pinus yunnanensis, P. massoniana and P. sylvestris war. mongolica),C.quercuum (from Pinus yunnanensis and P taiwanensis) and C. ribicola (from Pinus koraiensis), there are annulated processes with 5-8 layers. Every aeciospore had a evident smooth area The surface of smooth area and the tops of processes were at the sams level. These processes sometimes were connected in two or more from the bottom to tips, or only witb the tips. Between the corresponding layer annulations of the processes there are usually one to several connected fibril Each species could be distinguished by the shape and size of its processes and smooth area The processes of C. ribicola had about the same breadth from the bottom to tips, on which the surfaces are even, annulated in 7-8 layers While C. flaccidum and G.quercuum had narrow processes annulated evidently with 5-7 more obvious layers. One to several fibrils between processes appeared, but the smooth area of the former were larger and longer. The aeciospores of C. flaccidu,a secured on Pinus yunnanensis and P, sylvestris var. mongolica had significant morphological differences.

The superconducting transition temperatures, Tc, and their pressure dependences (?)Tc/(?)P of some C-15 Laves phase compounds, (Zr0.5Hf0.5-xTa)V2 (x≤0.2) and (Hf0.5 Zr0.5-xNbx)V2 (x≤0.2) system, have been studied. A description of the experimental apparatus and results is given. Unlike the cases of (Hf1-xTax)V2and (Zr1-xTax)V2, introduction of Ta in (Zr0.5Hf0.5-xTax)V2 depresses Tc but causes a remarkable higher (?)Tc/ (?)P. So the superconducting transition temperature Tc of (Zr0.5Hf0.45Ta0.05)V2 is higher than that of (Zr0.5Hf0.5)V2 at high pressure. In view of the band theory method with angular momentum representation, a new relation for the pressure dependence of elect-ron-phonon coupling (i.e. (?)lnη/(?)lnV) is derived. It emphasized the relative importance of high angular-momentum-partials variation of the conduction band electron wave function on (?)lnη/(?)ln V. This formulation is helpful in understanding the above-mentioned experimental results and also gives a resonable explanation to the facts that Tc of some elements, e. g. Cs, Ba and La, are substantially enhanced by pressure.
