Abstract Child language acquisition is closely related to general cognitive development.His semantic acquisition is simultaneous with conceptual development.The semantic growth is characterized by a gradual progress from simple to complex,from rough to refined.The cognitive growth is characterized by conceptual categorization,from discovering and representing the superficiality to the comprehensive complexity and relationships.The child linguistic level reflects his cognitive level.

儿童语言习得和认知发展密切相关。语义习得与概念发展同时进行。儿童的语义发展经历了从简单到复杂、从粗糙到精细的过程。儿童认知发展则表现为概念范畴化,从发现和表达事物的显在特征到更为细致复杂的综合特征和关系特征。儿童的语言水平反映了认知水平。

As to the study of child language acquisition, there are there basic theories about how young children learn new words: associative theory, constraints theory and social-pragmatic theory. The paper examines the adequacy of the three different approaches with an emphasis on the discussion of the social-pragmatic theory. It argues that children need flexible and powerful social-cognitive skills to learn new words.

有关儿童习得词汇的研究主要有三种理论假设 :联想学习理论、制约原则论和社会语用理论。本文在分析前两种词汇习得理论缺陷的基础上 ,着重对社会语用认知理论进行了评述。该理论强调 ,具有可塑性的、强有力的社会认知技能是儿童成功习得词汇的关键因素
