This article is a preliminary inquiry into the statistic rules to determine principal ship form parameters of modern large bulk carriers. By analysing the data of more than 230 modern regular bulk carriers in the light of the regression theory, the authors have developed a series of empirical formulae through large amount of calculations with the aid of computers, which have proved to be applicable in the estimation of those paramters of bulk carriers at their primary design stage. Comparisons have been made between the above-mentioned formulae and those published at home and abroad, the conclusion being that the accuracy of the former is higher than that of the latter. In those newly developed formulae, a great many factors are involved, thus making them more complicated but more accurate and easier to calculate through computers. In the article, the authors have also made a brief account of the general trend of the development of the principal ship form parameters of large bulk carriers.

本文收集了1968年以来国内外二百三十余艘常规散装货船的实船资料,就其主要船型参数的规律作了初步探讨。并运用逐步回归分析方法,借助电算机的大量运算,选出“最优”回归方程,整理概括出了一组适合常规散装货船的、多变量的主要船型参数统计公式。并与国内外已发表的有关统计公式作了比较。本文提出的统计公式,由于计入的因素多,形式虽复杂,但精度较高,适于用电子计算机对船型参数进行初步估算。文中对大型散装货船主要船型参数发展的一般趋势也作了简要叙述。

This article makes an inquiry into the statistic rules to determine the principal ship parameters of large container vessels. By analysing the data of more than a hundred modern container vessels in light of the regression theory, the authors have developed a series of empirical formulae through large amount of computer-aided calculation, which have proved to be applicable in the estimation of those parameters of container vessels at their primary design stage.Also, comparisons have been made between the aforesaid formulae and those pubhshed at home and abroad, the conclusion being that the degree of accuracy of the former is higher than that of the latter. A little more complicated as they are, the newly-developed formulae are not only more accurate but also easier to computerize.Finally, a brief account is given of the general trend of the development of the principal ship form parameters of large container vessels.
