The mechanical environment of earthquake preparation in Gansu-Ningxia-Qinghai region is discussed in the following aspects: (1) The distribution regularity of regionalstructural stress field is studied, by nleans of considering the seismic source mechanism ofstrong earthquakes, characteristics of deformation belts and sliding movement of active faultsand on-the-spot measuring results of modern ground deformation and stress. The study re-sult shows that in this region the direction of modern regional structural stress field is mainlyhorisontal, the direction of main compressional stress is gradually changing from west to near-ly south-east, from NNE to EW. Furthermore, such a stress direction on surface is identhalto that in shallow and deep crust. It is thought that such a regularity of stress direction is due tothe effects of block collision and compression of lndin plate to Qinghai- Tibet plateau, whichmake the latter push north-eastward and creep eastward at the same time. (2) Based on dis-cussion of dislocation types of earthquake-generating faults and some precursory data, the pa-per suggests that during earthquake preparation period the seismic source area and its neigh-bouring region are of high stress condition, which is the basic reason for the genertllity of pre-cursors in this region. (3) Modern earthquake preparation and development Pattern are alsodiscussed in this paper. It is concluded that the activity of earthquakes with magnitude greaterthan 6.0 is mainly attributed to or linking up between Faults.

It is shown that the Center Faults in Yellow Sea are 2 faults instead of one fault in NW direction. Stress from dextrorotation activity of Tanlu Fault brings different effect to the west and east parts of Yellow Sea because of the existing of the Center Faults in Yellow Sea. Isolines of gravity in the west part of Yellow Sea are dense but the size of gravity anomaly is less than in the east part of Yellow Sea. The sharp angle in SN direction of “X”—sharp faults in one group were formed during the inset process from Yangtze block to Sino-korean Bolck. The center fautls in Yellow Sea show the active evidences in different time. They are related not only with block collision in Tethyan System but also with subduction afterward from Pacific Plate to Euro-Asia Plate.

根据黄海及周边地区的布格重力资料 ,通过解析延拓、目标场提取、任意水平方向导数计算、离散小波变换等处理 ,得到各种有关断裂的信息 .经过与地震层析成像结果和地质资料的综合分析 ,认为黄海中央断裂带是一组“X”型交叉断裂而不仅仅是一条NW向延伸的断裂 ,并提出了有关的地球物理证据 .经分析认为 :黄海中央断裂带的存在是造成黄海东西两侧在地球物理场面貌、断裂分布特点与规模上有较大差异的原因之一 .由于该断裂带的存在 ,致使郯庐断裂带的右旋活动所产生的应力对黄海东西两侧的影响不一致 ,因而产生了黄海西部重力异常等值线凌乱、密集、断裂密布但规模相对东部较小的现象 .认为黄海中央断裂带受扬子块体向中朝块体嵌入过程的影响 ,形成一组近SN向为锐角的“X”断裂带 ,但该断裂带具有明显多期活动的迹象 ,不仅与特提斯体制下块体碰撞、俯冲作用有关 ,也与后期太平洋板块向欧亚板块的聚敛、俯冲作用有关 .

Six two-dimensional crustal structure profiles in the eastern Dabie, Anhui Province, have been obtained by the wide-angle reflection/refraction. The results reveal that the crust of the eastern Dabie orogen presents a high-velocity dome, the velocity in the middle- and lower-crust′s metamorphic rocks exposed on the surface in the core of the dome approaches 5.0 km/s, the low velocity layers (body) with about 6.1 km/s has developed in upper-middle crust in it′s both sides wing, the Moho discontinuity relatively largely varies and ranges from ~ 41km in the core to 32~34 km in both sides, and a 4 km Moho-offset is observed beneath along Xiaotian-Muzitan Fault. We recognize that the eastern Dabie orogen shows a velocity-pattern of typical continent-continent deep subduction/collision style. The Moho offset may be related with the deep subductionof the Yangtze Block, and represents the suture zone between the Yangtze/Sino-Korean Block collision. Therefore, the high-velocity dome may occur by collision/extrusion between the both continental Blocks and the low velocity layers (body) mentioned above may play an important role in the post-collisional crust extension and exhumation of the ultra-high press metamorphic rocks.

在安徽大别山 (东大别 )进行的深地震宽角反射 折射探测获得 6条二维地壳速度结构剖面 .结果显示 ,东大别造山带地壳为一高速穹隆构造 ,在其核部中、下地壳变质岩出露于地表 ,波速高达 5 .0km s;在其翼部 ,上、中地壳发育速度约 6 .1km s的壳内低速层 (体 ) .莫霍面的起伏变化较大 ,中心部位深达 41km左右 ,周边地区则抬升到 32~ 34km .在晓天—磨子潭断裂一线下方莫霍面垂向错断 ,断距约 4km .东大别造山带具有大陆深俯冲 -碰撞造山带地壳结构的典型式样 .莫霍面错断与扬子陆块深俯冲有关 ,错断处表征扬子与华北陆块碰撞缝合的深部位置 .高速穹隆构造可能是两陆块碰撞挤压的产物 ,穹隆翼部上、中地壳发育的低速滑脱带 (面 )可能在碰撞期之后的地壳伸展、超高压变质岩从中地壳抬升出露于地表过程中起到重要作用 .
