Loading structure is an important problem relating to the controlling of explosion energy distribution and blasting effects. This paper analyses problems concerning the conventional continuous loading structure in open mining deep borehole blasting. A new loading structure-bottom air cushion loading is described together with its specialities and blasting principle. Model blasting process was observed directly by means of high speed photography. The results observed have revealed the model blasting process and the laws of variation in displacement distance and velocity of broken rock in both cases of continuous loading and bottom air cushion loading. On the basis of experiment analyses, the effect of the height of bottom air cushion on fragmentation is discussed. Practice in two open mines demonstrated that with an adequate height of bottom air cushion under the column charge there will still be sufficient fracture in a bench bottom, i. e. no stumps in bottom. Meanwhile, specific charge and boulder rale as well as the width of muckpile can be reduced.

装药结构是调节炸药能量分布和控制爆破效果的一个重要问题。本文分析了露天矿深孔爆破长期沿用的连续装药结构存在的问题。论述了新的装药结构-底部空气垫层装药结构的特点和爆破原理。利用高速摄影技术,对爆破过程进行直接观测,得出了连续装药结构和空气垫层装药结构条件下,模型爆破过程、碎块抛射距离和速度变化的规律。在试验分析基础上,探讨关于底部空气垫层高度变化对爆破破碎作用的影响。两个露天矿爆破实践证明,在深孔药柱底部保留适当高度的空气垫层,爆破时可以对台阶底部岩石产生足够的破碎作用,不留“根底”,同时,有利于降低炸药消耗和大块率,缩小爆堆宽度。

Based on the experience on mining deep sea manganese nodule and the new research achievements of rich cobalt crust, the authors developed a mining scenario for deep sea rich cobalt crust with drum type collecting head. Through analyzing the load fluctuation of drum type collection head cutting and fragmentating cobalt crust, the authors established a mathematics model of load fluctuation of the collection head, and worked out the computer program to simulate and calculate the load and fluctuation index, which provides the groundwork for designing and optimizing the drum type collection head of deep sea cobalt crust excavating robot.
