According to inclining section assumption,studied a simple method for calculating local stress and limit load of a bending plate with symmetrical ∪ shaped grooves.The influence of notch width (ρ/a) and notch depth (t/a) on local stress were analyed.Comparison of both deep groove and shallow groove cases and the rela- tion of limite load with elastic-plastic interface have been given finally.
