In part B of Zhamo region, the compressional axis is in the east-west direc-tion with an angle of elevation about 51 degrees. This seems to correspond to the underthrusting condition.Such a result is basically in accord with the model of collision between the Indian plate and the Eurasian plate and agrees with the fault plane solutions of the major earthquakes which occurred in that region. This implies that all earthquakes whether large or small are all controlled by the- plate movement.

After the Indo-China movement, the crustal development of south China evolved from the platform stage into the diwa stage. According to the plate tectonics theory, the continental crust of the eact margin of south China at that time was just converted from the cont- inental margin of island arc type into that ot Andes type. Thus the "ancient Pacient plate" subducted directly under the "ancient Eurasia plate" so that the consolidated continental crust fo south of Chia underwent buckling...

The charateristics of diwa tectonics agree with plate movement in time, space and causes, indicating that the two theories are very similar.

Combined with force variations in pushing against Eurasia Plate by India Plate this paper has carried a discussion on the evolution of large earthquakes on Qingzang Plateau and its vicinity and in Sichuan-Yunnan Area, aiming at an inquisition of inhomogeneity and collision regularity of plate movements.Through analysis the author holds that, motion of India Plate against Eurasia Plate is of imbalance with a certain regularity, possibly undergoing a circular process in force variations...

Combined with force variations in pushing against Eurasia Plate by India Plate this paper has carried a discussion on the evolution of large earthquakes on Qingzang Plateau and its vicinity and in Sichuan-Yunnan Area, aiming at an inquisition of inhomogeneity and collision regularity of plate movements.Through analysis the author holds that, motion of India Plate against Eurasia Plate is of imbalance with a certain regularity, possibly undergoing a circular process in force variations as a violent motion in the east part-changing from cast to west-changing back from west to east-a violent motion at both cast and west parts-finally in the east part again. During this process the push at the east part of plate was stronger than that at the west, acting alternatively in both east and west. And the intraplate earthquakes revealed a certain cycle.For the Qingzang Plateau Area, attention should be given in the 昮uture to the tendency of earthquake activities in the west part. There might be a change or adjustment stage of force origin for plate motion, i. e. a period of a violent motion transferring from the east part at present to the west. For Sichuan-Yunnan Area, earthquake activities will still, be in a period of low level. Although larger earthquakes might occur, there is no possibility for the occurrence of a strong earthquake greater than magnitude 7.

本文对青藏高原及邻区以及川滇地区大地震变迁进行研究,结合印度板块对欧亚板块推挤中力源的变化,探讨板块运动的不均匀性及碰撞规律。 通过分析认为,印度板块对欧亚板块的运动是不均衡的,具有一定的运动规律,可能经历了一个由东强——东转百——西转东——东、西强——东强的力源变化的循环过程。其中板块东部推挤较西部强烈,东部和西部推挤交替进行,板内地震显示出一定的轮回性。 今后对青藏高原地区来讲,应注意西部地区的地震活动的趋势,估计板块运动的力源会有一个变化或调整,由现在的东强转为西强的过渡阶段。对于川滇地区地震活动仍处于低水平阶段,虽有较强地震发生,但发生7级以上大地震可能性不大。
