We used global seismic tomography and regional tomography to study the deep structure and origin of the Changbai intraplate volcano in Northeast China. Our results reveal a low-velocity anomaly extending to 400 km with a velocity reduction of up to 4%. High velocity anomalies are visible in the mantle transition zone, and deep-focus earthquakes occur at depths down to 600 km under the region,suggesting that the subducting Pacific slab is stagnant in the mantle transition zone under Northeast Asia.These...

The electrical conductivity of synthesized wadsleyite and ringwoodite containing different water contents from 0.03wt% to 2.0wt% was investigated at a temperature range from 873K to 1273K under a confining pressure of 14~16GPa in 1000ton multi-anvil apparatus with the oxygen fugacity buffered by the Mo:MoO_2 solid-state reaction.The results showed the electrical conductivity in these minerals depends strongly on water content but only weakly on temperature.The electrical conductivity is in proportion to C_H~(0.66)...
