Super-wide-band negative resistance of stationary domain originated from the ca-thode deep recess doping distribution in GaAs transferred electron devices is discussed.In this model, field distribution in high-field domain is not the general triangle domain,but a flat field distribution in the active region.By small-signal analysis,it has beenfound that this model had super-wide-band negative resistance,thus making it possibleto make super-wide-band negative resistance devices.

A new type of four-frequency parametric converter is designed according to the different roles of the frequency components in the process of frequency trasformation. A small signal analysis is conducted, giving the conditions for conversion gain, for stable operation and for resonance. The resonant conditions define the requirements for the circuits and nonlinear elements in the realization of the new down converter.

In this paper a complete small signal analysis for semiconductor laser frequency chirping in the presence of optical fiber ring feedback is presented. It shows that the chirp-to-power ratio (CPR) strongly dependents on the optical coupling and the phase detuning especially when modulation frequency is below gigahertz.
