Minimum strain rates for anisotrpic ice are higher than that of isotropic ice provided that the anisotropy is compatible with the stress configuration....

Three processes were distinguished, i.e., brittle rupture, ductile-brittle process and ductile creep. The difference in εmin is insignificant between cyclic and static loading as σ ranging from 0.42 to 1.35 MPa. But it seems εmin increasing under cyclic loading, particularly as σ increasing. It is found that εmin significantly increases with amplitude at f=0.1 Hz and a greater σ.

And the paper recommends the necessity of measuring sample deformation directly under feedback control system in the critical ice mechanical properties tests....
