This article examines anew the phenomena of the annotation in Chinese ancient philosophy and concludes as follows by analyzing some examples of the annotation in Chinese ancient philosophy: the essence of the annotation in Chinese ancient philosophy is to express the thought of the annotator in the structure - meaning - language of Classics text, the annotation in Chinese ancient philosophy is a philosophical writing way of the ancient Chinese philosophers, not the method of semantics of ancient Chinese language.
