There are three parts in this paper: experiments, deformation behavior and load carring capacity. A series of tests of reinforced concrete frames with brick filler walls were conducted. The specimens were one story and one bay structures with or without opening. The structures were subjected to horizontal loads varying from zero up to the maximum value, at the same time, constant vertical loads were applied. On the basis of experimen tal results, the principal deformation characteristics and appropriate deformation values were evolved. Especially, the deformation corresponding to diagonal cracks throughout the whole width of brick filler wall and the ultimate deformation at the failure stage of structure were analysed. The former deformation is used as a criterion of having no structure damage in the moderate earthquake, and the ultimate deformation is used as a limiting value to avoid structure collapse in the severe earthquake. The experimental results have shown that the failure of structure was shearing type, in which the diagonal cracks were observed in the filler wall and the flexural plastic hinges occured in the columns of frame. The maximum story shear force to cause the structure in failure is defined as load carrying capacity. A set of formulas is developed for evaluating load carring capacity, the calculating values obtained from these formulas are in good agreement with the experimental values.

Based on the study of three different experiments on a saw-tooth structure, displacement characteristics under horizontal earthquake force and the weaker position for the displacement of saw-tooth structure are discussed. A computer programme to calculate the load-displacement curve and the value of ultimate deformation are developed. At the same time, a simplified method to estimate the deformation capacity of saw-tooth structure for designer is proposed in this paper.

本文通过一个五跨锯齿排架模型受单向模拟水平地震力的试验和两个单跨模型受反复水平力的试验,分析了这种结构体系变形的薄弱构件和部位。利用数值分析方法计算了最薄弱构件的变形值,与试验值符合较好。最后提出了校核这种厂房变形能力的实用方法。
