In a series of commercial experiments for a scale of 84 T/day,a high efficiency two-stage fluidized bed roaster was successfully used for reduction roasting;three- stage countercurrent leaching and fluidized washing were conducted and good extractions for nickel and cobalt were obtained.According to the characteristics of the calcines, the phase change and the phase composition of the soluble iron during ammoniacal leaching were rationally controlled and the recovery of iron concentrate was achieved by the simple magnetic separation process.In the purification of nickel and cobalt, ammonium sulphate was adopted for the dissolution operation and the oxydrolysis was performed at low temperatures,the economic aspect was,therefore,satisfactory;high- purity nickel powder and cobalt powder were directly produced by the hydrogen reduction technique.This method was technically advanced. Based on the results of these experiments,in 1978,a nickel and cobalt extraction and purification plant with a capacity of 900,000 T/year laterite has been completed in Albania.

The kinetics of cobalt extraction with P5709 has been studied in a Lewis cell. The aqueous phase consisted of Co2+ (0.5-5g/l) and Na2SO4 (9%) at pH = 5.5, and the organic phase, 15%(V/V) P5709 and 85%(V/V) kerosene, saturated with hydrogen.

Since the correlation analysis of equilibrium constants in nickel or cobalt extraction with σ~P constants reported by us and Charton's v, a commonly used parameter for steric effects, gives only unsatisfied results. It is therefore necessary to establish a new parameter reflecting mainly steric effects of substituents of ligands in Co(II) and Ni(II) separation by mono-basic alkylphosphonates and phosphates.

本文在考察一元烷基磷(膦)酸酯萃取钴、镍反应平衡常数与取代基结构的定量关系的基础上,提出了酸性磷(膦)酸酯萃取钴、镍反应中反映取代基结构空间效应为主的经验参数E_(PA)~(Co)和E_(PA)~(Ni)。这些新标度的建立,不仅使我们可用lgK_(ex)=ρΣσ~P+δE_(PA)~(Co(Ni))+C关系式来描述萃取钴、镍的反应性与取代基结构效应的关系,而且也为选择高效镍、钴分离萃取剂提供了新途径.
