To study the influence of gas diffusion in cathode region on cell process, a kind of gas diffusion barrier was made to slow down gas diffusion in the cathode region. Some mathematic models were proposed to explain above mentioned phenomena: (1) limiting current explained gas diffusion had become the control role in battery process, and the simulated curve fitted the realistic U/I curve; (2) ZrO 2 electrolyte yielded free electrons at very low oxygen voltage in cathode area. And the free electron stored and accumulated in ZrO 2 electrolyte, it made limiting current disappeared slowly.

为了方便研究气体扩散对ZrO2 电池过程的影响 ,在ZrO2 电池的阴极制造了一种延缓气体扩散的装置 ,使阴极气体扩散对电池过程的影响凸现出来 ;在阴极气体扩散速率大大减慢的情况下 ,发现了以下现象 :在ZrO2 电池的U/I曲线中出现极限电流 ,极限电流随着时间的延续会逐渐消失。提出了几个数学模型来解释这些现象 :( 1)极限电流表明阴极气体扩散已成为电池过程的速率控制步骤 ,用我们的公式模拟得到的U/I曲线与实验曲线能较好地吻合 ;( 2 )阴极区很低的氧分压使ZrO2 电解质中产生自由电子 ,自由电子可以通过缔合而储存在ZrO2 电解质中并加以不断累积 ,导致极限电流逐渐消失。
