Process plan representation is essential for the data exchange between CAPP system and other systems in CIM environment. This paper first reviews the state of art of the process plan model research. Then a process plan modeling strategy is proposed, which aims to meet real application requirements and integrate the practicality and generalization of the process plan description. Based on the strategy, an object oriented and hierarchical representation of process plan is proposed and its EXPRESS model is presented. Finally, the translation from EXPRESS model of process plan to STEP file and C++ form is introduced.
