The results show that all the three powders are suitable for injective molding process and result in smaller and uniform sintering shrinkage and better mechanical properties if the process schedule is in good control. The particle size conspicuously influences the densification and mechanical properties of 316L stainless steel. The sintered density of 19.25μm raw stainless steel powder reaches 98% of the theoretical density, and the pores are uniformly distributed as small spherical shape leading to the best mechanical properties: σ 0.2 = 193MPa, σ b=506MPa, δ=54%, HRB=61, which are superior to the sintering property indexes ruled in the light of the American MPIF standard for MIM316L fine stainless steel powder.

Oil-impregnated,porous ronze bearings,the earliest and most ubiquitous modern powder metallurgy(PM)product,are manufactured worldwide.Yet clear product differences exist from region to region.The recent global standard ISO 5755 for PM materials includes two data tables describing the properties of bearing materials.Several critical bearing characteristics cited are at variance with the bearing properties listed in MPIF Standard 35,or the corresponding ASTM standard.In consequence,the MPIF Standards Committee undertook a small test program to compare and contrast the critical features of a standard 90 wt% Cu-10 wt% Sn bearing.Sample parts were obtained from commercial production sources in Europe and North America for this study.The data confirm differences in porosity and radial-crushing strength,which are attributed to subtle differences in raw materials and manufacturing techniques.End users should be aware of these differences,and confirm that the characteristics cited in ISO 5755 are adequate for their bearing requirements.

The injection molding 316L stainless steel powders with average particle size of(65.71μm) and 9.57μm respectively were prepared by water-atomization, and the injection molding 316L stainless steel compacts were also prepared using a mixture of the above powders.The effect of adding fine particle powder to coarse particle powder on sintering densification process and mechanical properties of the mixing powder was also discussed.It is shown that the sintering activity of coarse particle is improved by adding fine particle of 25% in mass,which leads to that the sintered density,yield strength,tensile strength,elongation and hardness of the mixed powder compacts arrive at 95%,192MPa,498MPa,59% and HRB60 respectively.Except for a slightly increase in powder cost by the addition of fine particle,it is obviously that the mechanical properties of the compact with addition of fine particle is superior to those of the compact only prepared by coarse particle,which are also similar to the MPIF standard.After this investigation,a feasible way is provided for the preparation of MIM 316L stainless steel parts with large dimension.

对平均粒径为65.71μm和9.57μm的316L不锈钢水雾化粉及其混合粉末进行注射成形,探讨在粗粉末中加入细粉末对混合粉末的烧结致密化过程和力学性能的影响。结果表明,在粗粉末中加入25%(质量分数)的细粉末,可以提高粗粉末的烧结活性;烧结样密度达到理论密度的95%,抗拉强度达498 MPa,屈服强度达192MPa,伸长率为52%,硬度为HRB 60,即在粉末成本增加不多的基础上,力学性能大大超过了单一粗粉末烧结样,基本达到了美国MPIF关于316不锈钢注射成形烧结件的性能标准,为316L不锈钢粉末注射成形较大尺寸件提供了一条可行途径。
