In addition, a supporting software tool was developed to help model transfer among various process modeling methods.

为了便于实现过程模型的重用及信息共享,提出了一种基于可扩展标记语言的IDEF3 模型的中间交换格式———扩展的IDEF3标记语言,利用此中间交换格式实现了IDEF3 模型向工作流过程模型的转换。该中间交换格式保留了IDEF3模型原有的语法和语义定义,扩展了描述过程的时间属性、运行约束条件等详细信息,以及角色、资源等相关信息的模型元素,使得过程建模的不同阶段之间可以建立连接。此外,开发了软件支持工具,使不同过程建模方法之间的模型转换更加便利。
