It was shown that for each tested soil, the correlation between desorption and adsorption behaved significantly exponential, and significant linear correlationship existed between desorption amount and foe corresponding equilibrium P concentration. The relationship between phosphorus desorption and adsorption of soils was studied, by using the acid paddy soils derived for main parent matetials in Guangdong Province. It was shown that for each tested soil, the correlation between desorption and adsorption behaved significantly exponential, and significant linear correlationship existed between desorption amount and foe corresponding equilibrium P concentration. The results also showed that at the same start phosphorus concentration (w (P) = 10, 15, 25 or 50 mg·kg-1 ), phosphorus desorption amounts (Xd) of the tested soils had markedly negative correlation with the corresponding Maximum P Adsorption (Xm), but significantly positive correlationship with the cormsponding P adsorption saturation on soil particles.
