The authors of this paper have obtained the tetravalent terbium compound by oxidation of the corresponding trivalent speicies with ozone in alkali aqueous solution of sodium tripolyphosphate.The color of solution was changed from colorless to dark red-brawn after reaction. According tO the data of chemical analysis and absorption spectra it was confirmed for the formation of Tb(Ⅳ) in solution. The absorption band with the highest absorption at 365nm is considered to be one of the characterestics of Tb(Ⅳ)compound.The...

The absorption band with the highest absorption at 365nm is considered to be one of the characterestics of Tb(Ⅳ)compound.The effect of various factors upon the formation and stabilization of Tb(Ⅳ)have been studied. The kinetics of reduction of Tb(Ⅳ) in aqueous solution has been determinate. It is found that the reduction of Tb(Ⅳ) is the first order reaction. The rate constants and the helf-lives have been calculated as well.A red-brown solide containing Tb(Ⅳ)has been isolated from the solution, The properties has also been investigated.

于含Tb(Ⅲ)的六偏磷酸钠碱性溶液中通入臭氧,则Tb(Ⅲ)被氧化成四价,溶液的颜色由无色变为红棕色,化学分析及吸收光谱证实溶液中有Tb(Ⅳ)生成,Tb(Ⅳ)溶液在320—500nm波长范围内有特征的宽带吸收最大吸收位于365nm处,动力学研究表明,Tb(Ⅳ)在容液中的还原反应服从一级反应动力学方程,速率常数(k)及半还原期(t_(1/2)随PH而变,由溶液中析出了含Tb(Ⅳ)的固态化合物,通过电泳及离子交换反应,证明所得化合物中Tb(Ⅳ)以络阴离子形式存在。

In this paper we have studied the existing state of terbium (Ⅳ ) oxide hydrate in HCl, HNO3, HClO4 and HAc solutions. Through the investigations of the optical and electrical properties and coagulation values it is showed that the Terbium ( Ⅳ ) oxide hydrate exists as a sol with positive charges in these solutions. The UV and visible absorption spectra and kinetics of reduction of the sols have also been studied.

本文研究了TbO_2·xH_2O在HCl、HNO_3、HClO_4和HAc中的存在状态,通过对其光学性质、电学性质、聚沉值的研究,证实TbO_2·xH_2O在这些酸中均以带正电荷的胶体状态存在.对所得胶体的紫外-可见吸收光谱及溶胶中Tb(Ⅳ)水合氧化物的氧化还原动力学进行了研究.
