Based on the investigation from 1975 to 1979, the principal features of present glaciers in Qilianshan are comparatively described in this paper. A series of new data concerned with ice formation, accumulation and ablation,mass balance, ice temperature, motion velocity, development and evolution of glacier and so on are shown here. It is suggested that the glaciers in Qilianshan should be of monsoon semi-continental type in the east and full contintental type in the west.

本文以1975——1979年的考察为依据,对祁连山现代冰川的基本特征做了比较全面的论述。文中提出了有关冰川的成冰作用,积累、消融和物质平衡,温度,运动速度,以及冰川的发展演变等方面的一系列新资料。作者指出:祁连山东、西两部分的冰川应分属季风亚太陆性和极大陆性类型。

In 1965, under his direction the working program of the newly estaplished Institute of Glaciology, Cryopedology and Desert Research was prepared.With the phenological records in Chinese history, he determined the existence of cold period in China in the 17th century corresponding to the Little Ice Age of Europe and pointed out that the snowline at Sailimu Lake in Tian Shan in the 13th century was lower than that at present by 200-300m. He holds that the existence of Quaternary glaciers in East China is impossible, except in some high mountains.

MT. Tomur, the highest peak of the Tieshan, rises 7435. 3m above sea level and is situated at the western end of the Tienshan in xinjiang Uyger Autonomous Regin of China. MT. Tomur, the highest peak of the Tieshan, rises 7435. 3m above sea level and is situated at the western end of the Tienshan in xinjiang Uyger Autonomous Regin of China. On the basis of the materials collected by the investigation in 1977 and 1978, this paper deals with the climatic characteristics and their origin, the vertical climatic zones and their features it this area. MT. Tomur area is located far from the sea apd in western wind zone,therefore, it has a continental climate. It is located between 41°41′—42°41 N, 81°—82°E. The site also determines the amount of solar energy reaching its land factors in this region. Its high relief causes climatic difference and formation of vertical climatic zones of the south and north slopes.The climate of the MT. Tomur region has the following chief characteristics: The regional differentiation of climate is evident on the both slopes. Aa the moist air from the Arctic and Atlantic oceans is interruped by the high mountain mass, especially on the northern slope, Zhausu on the north has an annual precipitation 519.2mm, it is more than 5 times of Baicheng on the south slop; The index of drying botween north and south slopes is evident difference: Sometime the vertical change of temperature and precipitation is also obvious. Both on the southern and northern slopes, on the basis of the zonality, nonzonality and geographical landscape, form foothills to the peak in NT. Tomur area, five vertical climatic zones and eight vertical climatic tupys may be differentiated. In the determination of the limite of the vertical climatic zones, we have chiefly chosen heat index, and have considered characteristics of the natural landscapes. Based on the regression of glaciers, uplift of the snow line and forest line, it has been demonstrated the climate in NT. Tomur area slowly became warmer since the 17th century. Short-trem meteorological and hydrological observational data also show that the temperature tend to increase and precipitation tend to decrease during the last 20 years.

本文根据1977年和1978年对新疆天山托木尔峰地区登山科学考察所得的资料,并参考前人究研成果整理而成。文章在全面地分析本区气候形成条件的基础上,阐述了托木尔峰南、北坡气候的若干特征。同时,根据地带性,非地带性及地理景观学原则,我们将托木尔峰地区南、北坡共划分为5个垂直气候带和8个垂直气侯型,它们各自组成不同的山地垂直气侯带谱,并对山地垂直气候带的基带和各垂直气候带划分的依据及其气候特点进行了初步的探讨。最后,从本区冰川的后退、雪线的上升和森林线的上移证明了17世纪以来气候逐浙变暖,短期的气象和水文观测资料也说明近廿年来该区气温和降水具有增高和减少的趋势。
