Peak-forest karst landscape in Guilin has several outstanding points: uniqueness, nonregenerativeness and unreplaceable character, " boundlessness" for tourist resource and permanence for utilization. 桂林市既是风景游览城市又是历史文化名城,是一个以自然美为主体、人文美为客体而共同构成的谐调的空间地域综合体,具备发展旅游的极为有利的条件,天然岩溶景观是“桂林山水”的精华所在。从战略上看,应以大力开发地表岩溶峰林旅游资源最为重要。桂林岩溶峰林景观具有若干突出的优点:独特性、不可再生性和不可替代性、资源的“无限性”和可永续利用性。所以建立在这一基础之上的以发展旅游业为主的桂林市经济社会发展模式具稳态结构。 The Quaternry accumulations are distributed widely on the ground surface of karst region round Guilin. According to their origins , the accumulations are mainly of the following types, alluvial, alluvial-pluvial, slope-wash pluvial, eluvial and lacustrine-bog, etc. Data obtained from laboratory analyses showed that, in the main formations, there are clay mineral association which is chiefly composed of kaolinite, illite and chlorite; considerable goethite and gibbsite; and highly chemically stable heavy mineral... The Quaternry accumulations are distributed widely on the ground surface of karst region round Guilin. According to their origins , the accumulations are mainly of the following types, alluvial, alluvial-pluvial, slope-wash pluvial, eluvial and lacustrine-bog, etc. Data obtained from laboratory analyses showed that, in the main formations, there are clay mineral association which is chiefly composed of kaolinite, illite and chlorite; considerable goethite and gibbsite; and highly chemically stable heavy mineral association of zircon, scheelite, ilmenite, tourmaline, rutile, limonite, leucoxene and magnetite. The earth deposits have fossil soil properties pertaining to laterite and red clay. The thermo-philous floras and faunas found in the Quaternary accumulations and the well developed tropical karst features in Guilin region characterized by peak-forest geomorphology indicate that the Guilin region has an environment of warm-humid tropical, subtropical or even northern subtropical climate since the Quaternary period, especially since the middle-late Pleistocene epoch. 本区第四纪堆积物,其成因有冲积、冲洪积、坡洪积、残坡积、坡残积、残积,沼泽堆积等类型。各主要土层有高岭石、伊利石、绿泥石为主的粘土矿物组合,并含较多的针铁矿和三水铝石;有化学稳定性强的重矿物组合;砖红壤,红壤的古土壤性质;喜暖的古植物和古动物群,以及现今所见桂林以峰林地貌为特征的典型热带岩溶的强烈发育,说明本区第四纪以来,特别是小晚更新世以来是属于温暖湿润的热带、亚热带至多到北亚热带的气候环境。 The world famous Ling Canal passing through the Xingan County in the northeastern part of Guangxi was excavated in 214 B. C. in the Qin dynasty. It links the Xiang River, a tributary of the Yangtzie River, With the Li River, a branch of the Pearl River.The construction of the Ling Canal had made use of the specific favourabe geologjcal-geomorphological conditions of the water divide, e. g.,1 ) the lower point of geological structure; 2 ) the intense karstiftcation on the divide i, e., the landform of peak-forest...
