The energy transferred through collisions between dust grains and gas molecules is not sufficient to maintain the gas at the observed temperature. Shock waves may transfer some energy into the gas. External heating and electron-cosmic rays heating are also discussed.

This article expounds some main errors of the 1.26 m Infrared Telescope of the Beijing Astronomical Observatory after its installation and tries to separate each of them (2m displaying error, 4m17s short-period as well as long-period tracking errors, etc.) by harmonic analysis. Then it discusses the main factors causing them, calculates their theoretical values and compares these with the practical measurements, analyses the effects of the errors on the precision of the telescope and introduces methods...
