So they are important in selecting a suitable antenna system.According to the specialties of DOIC, this paper selects a Cassegrainian emitting and receiving antenna, and an idea of using the same antenna for emitting and receiving is put forward. It is advantageous not only for simplifying the optical structure of the system but also for reducing the whole weight and volume of the system. It is more suitable for a satellite. At the same time, the paper analyzes and discusses the main parameters of the antenna. Thus deduced are the relation between the antenna's receiving power and the crossing radius and the aligning multiplying power of the antenna, and the relation between the gain of the emitting antenna and the wavelength and the aligning multiplying power of the antenna.

In this paper, the authors analysed the characteristic of wavepropagation in Ku band, calculated the value of rain attenuation for the Ku band repeaters in SINOSATI and 87.5E Satellites, according to the relative CCIR Recommendations, elevation of receiving antenna and polorization tilt angle, and marked the attenuation curves on the map of China. These curves is obviously convenient to be used by satellite broadcast and telecommunication engineers. Based on these curves, we can optimize the pattern of the onboard antenna of the satellite as well as the design of a satllite receiving system.
