The exhange of Mg~(2+) with NaZSM-5 and HZSM-5 at 95—98℃ was investi-gated.It was observed that there existed a fast and a slow ion-exchanging ve-locity.The magnesium ions introduced into HZSM-5 by impregnation would takethe place of all H~+ ions on weak and strong acid sites.The acidity,activity andshape-selectivity were characterized by TPD,IR,methanol conversion and ethyl-ation of toluene.
