    For determining the lower limit of explosibility of coal dust cloud in laboratory,the authors have designed an apparatus capable of uniformly producing such clouds.The effect of fineness of coal dust, methane and stone dust on the lower limit of the explosibility of coal dust clouds has been investigated on a number of samples taken from several coalfields. The results obtained show : 1.The lower limit of the explosibility of coal dust clouds is closely related to the volatile matter content in coal. The higher the volatile matter content, the lower is the lower limit of explosibility. The brown coal with 39-44 per cent volatile matter has a lowest lower limit of explosibility, being 45-55g/m~3 The coal dust with volatile mat-ter less than 10 per cent is not inflammable.2.The methane content in coal dust cloud can cause the decrease in lower limit of its explosibility. The lower the volatile matter content in coal dust, the greater is the effect of the methane on the lower limit of its explosibility.3. The stone dust is capable of suppressing the explosion of coal dust clouds. When the coal dust from Lung Feng Colliery was mixed with 75 per cent stone dust, it lost its inflammability entirely.

    The weighted rod boring method introduced in this essay is a new trial. It has been proved by theoretical and practical studies that the results are better than those employing ordinary 68-milimeter stabilizers. The author's experiences of using weigh ted-rod boring with-out reinforced bits in Peipiao Coalfield show that better effects are obtained both as to the hourly efficiency and to the prevention of borehole devia-tion. It is recommended as a reference to whoever deal with geological exploration.

The author points out that since permo-carboniferous period, the paleoclimatic and paleobotanic changes which have taken place on a large scale in coal-forming process were caused by movement of crustal plates. Coal fields of different ages occurred in specific elements of plate tectonics. The maximum coal accumulation period corresponds to that when plates were in diving and colliding movement, while the minimum coal accumulation period corresponds to the period of relatively stable movement of plates. Types of plate tectonics of coal deposits are: Atlantic miogeosyclinal coal deposits, Andes type geosyclinal coal deposits, submarine trench island arc geosyclinal coal deposits, platrorm type coal deposits etc.. The number, thickness and variation of coal seams depend upon the activities of the plates. The most favourable coal forming zones are along the margins of the plates. The higher degree of metamorphism is related to more intensive activity of magma.

    本文试以研究板块构造的重要地区青藏高原为例,探讨板块构造与煤田的关系。文中指出:石炭二迭纪以来,青藏高原成煤古气候和古植物的大规模变动是由于地壳板块的移动引起的。不同时代的煤田生成于特定的板块构造单元里。最大的聚煤时期正相当于板块构造发生俯冲和碰撞的运动时期;最小的聚煤时期正相当于板块构造处于相对稳定的运动时期。煤田板块构造类型可分为大西洋型冒地槽煤田、安第斯型地槽煤田、海沟-岛弧型地槽煤田及地台类型煤田等。煤层的层数、厚度和变化取决于板块的活动性。成煤作用最有利的地带是在板块边缘。煤变质程度较高与板块岩浆活动较强烈有关。
